We welcome all our families to be part of our community so you can…
contribute to your child’s care and education…
Our
Philosophy
At MNCC we focus on being a sustainable community based Early Learning Centre that is holistically maintained, providing quality education and care based on the needs of our children, families and community.
We believe that each child has the right to quality care and education in a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that is safe, allowing them to develop to their full potential.
Our professional Educators are committed to a play-based curriculum guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V2.0), National Quality Framework (NQS) and National Law and Regulations, ECA Code of Ethics and UN Convention on the Right of the Child, which incorporates our children’s voices and those of their families.
Our
Children
We understand that all our kids have their own needs, strengths and skills which we work to support through positive interactions, communication and providing them with a nurturing, stimulating and safe environment to engage with.
We aim to provide our kids with the skills and knowledge in preparation for adulthood. To support this, we encourage our children to learn through play and social interactions with peers and educators.
Our staff provide a daily program to challenge our children's thinking, encourage exploration, social interaction and ongoing interests. We also offer extra activities in rotation such as soccer, yoga and music.
Our
Educators
MNCC has passionate and qualified Educators who share our values. They invest in understanding and caring about each of our children. The majority of our educators have been with the centre for more than 3 years, giving the families a sense of stability and extended family. Many are also parents, adding to their compassion and understanding of children and parenthood.
We value our natural environment and resources, incorporating them into everyday play and learning. MNCC provide opportunities for children to connect with nature, care for their environment and encourage them to be environmentally responsible.
Our
Families
The Centre is a community based, not-for-profit cooperative, which means that it is owned by the families of the children attending the Centre. A parent’s committee, elected annually, oversees management of the Centre and meets once a month.
All parents are required to attend at least three parent meetings annually. Parental involvement in all aspects of the Centre is essential.
When you accept a position at MNCC you become a member of the cooperative. A requirement of members is active participation, this strengthens community relationships, giving families an opportunity to contribute to their children’s care and education.
There are many opportunities to actively participate in the centre - from reading stories and playing instruments with the children, fundraising, joining the committee, working bees, attending parent meetings, assisting with excursions, offering your expertise ie. plumbing, electricians, proofreading, professional advice etc. We request that families attend or participate in at least three of these activities throughout the year.
